Paying sellers directly in Pakistan: how it works and how to stay safe

5 min read · Updated 30 September 2026

On ThriftStore.pk you pay the seller directly, by bank transfer or mobile wallet, and the seller ships once the money has arrived. ThriftStore never holds your money, and there is no cash on delivery. Every step is recorded on the order, so both sides can see what happened. Here is how it works and what keeps it safe.

How the money moves

You place an order and your order page shows the seller’s active payout accounts — a bank account or a JazzCash, Easypaisa, NayaPay or SadaPay wallet — with the exact amount and copy buttons.

You have 1 hour to transfer the money and mark the order "Payment sent", with a screenshot of the transfer if you have one. If the hour runs out first, the order is cancelled automatically and the item goes back on sale. Once you have marked it sent, it is never cancelled automatically.

The seller checks their account and confirms "Payment received", then packs and ships. A seller can never ship an order before confirming its payment.

What buyers should check before ordering

Look at the shop, not only the item. A storefront with several listings, a filled-in profile and reviews from real orders is a different proposition from an account with one photo and no history.

Read the condition grade, the measurements and the refund policy on the product page rather than judging from the photo, and ask a question if anything is unclear. Most disputes trace back to something that was never asked.

  • Check the seller's other listings and reviews
  • Read the condition grade, not just the pictures
  • Check the refund policy shown on the product page
  • Check measurements against something you already own
  • Ask about flaws before ordering, not after delivery

Paying safely

Only pay into the accounts shown on your order in the app. The account title shown there is the name your banking app should display when you add the account; if it does not match, stop and ask in the order chat.

Send the exact amount, keep the transfer screenshot, and attach it when you mark payment sent. It is the quickest way to settle any question later.

  • Pay only into the accounts shown on your order
  • Check the account title matches before you send
  • Send the exact amount shown
  • Mark "Payment sent" within 1 hour and attach the screenshot
  • Keep the conversation in the order chat

If something goes wrong

Every order has an order chat between you and the seller. Nobody can edit or delete its messages or attachments, not even ThriftStore, so it is a record both sides can rely on.

If the seller says a payment did not arrive, they mark it "Not received" with a reason. ThriftStore Support then reviews the chat and the proof and either marks the order paid or cancels it.

After delivery, the refund policy shown on the product page when you bought applies. Within its window you can request a refund with a reason and photos, and the seller sends the money back directly.

What sellers should do

Keep your payout accounts accurate and active — buyers only see the active ones. Check every payment in your own banking or wallet app before you confirm it, never from a screenshot alone.

Confirm or dispute within 48 hours of the buyer marking payment sent, then photograph the item packed, keep the courier receipt, and dispatch quickly.

Warning signs on either side

For buyers: a seller who asks you to pay into an account that is not shown on your order, refuses to send an extra photo, or pushes you to move the conversation off the platform.

For sellers: a buyer who marks payment sent but whose money never arrives, an edited-looking screenshot, or pressure to ship before you have checked your account. Never ship before you confirm the payment.

Common questions

Is paying the seller directly safe?
You only pay into the accounts shown on your order, the seller confirms the payment before shipping, and the order chat keeps a permanent record. If a seller disputes a payment, ThriftStore Support reviews the proof and decides.
What happens if I do not pay within 1 hour?
The order is cancelled automatically and the item goes back on sale. You can place the order again if it is still available.
Can I pay cash when the parcel arrives?
No. There is no cash on delivery on ThriftStore.pk. You pay the seller by bank transfer or mobile wallet before they ship.
